I have been so excited whilst waiting for this talk to be available in text! I listened to the General Conference last weekend and each talk inspired me in some wonderful ways. I made notes, I almost wrote a book with notes I made! The one that has affected me greatly was one given by Elder Jeffrey R Holland, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles titled None were with Him. The power and conviction in the way Elder Holland gave this talk hit me almost as hard as the actual words did. The realisation of the love that Christ has for me just turned me into a blubbering mess at the keyboard! Trust me, not the best sight to see!! :)
Since I heard this talk a week ago I have listened to it surplus to 20 times and each time I am affected by it. I recognise how prideful a world we live in, how easy it is to toss the Lord aside for some more fashionable ideas and trends but what bothers me most is the fact that for ONE man to endure all this for each and every one of us is only incomprehensible to the human mind. We view things in our mortal form and unless we can see the proof we rarely trust beyond that. It's a shame, cos an open mind is a healthy mind, its a mind that is always looking to grow and progress further than the worldly ways. **sigh**
I'm not going to attempt to quote Elder Holland, I will be adding his talk here after this Easter weekend but for now you can download the talk in a word document or watch part of it on the video below.
I recommend anyone who is curious, interested or downright believing in the the Lord to go read this talk, think about it and then ask your Heavenly Father in prayer if it be true. I have no doubt there is a lesson in this talk and anyone who takes my challenge will get their own witness.
So, here is part of it, I hope you take few minutes to listen and ponder the words.
Whatever you are doing on this special Easter Sunday I hope you do so in safety, lots of laughter and reverence to the person who made all of our lives possible! ;)
